The place where a film lives before it exists.
Films rarely begin as screenplays. They begin as a sentence in a notebook, a face on a train, a street you can’t stop thinking about, a scene you have played in your head a hundred times before you know whose it is.
For most writers that material ends up scattered. A treatment in one app, the script in another, references in a folder, notes on a phone, and a conversation with an assistant that forgets everything the moment the window closes. The film exists in pieces, and holding it together is left to you.
Scriptr is one place for all of it.
A Scriptr project holds the whole film as it grows: the prose, the screenplay, the people and places, the images, the shots. They are not separate documents. They are different views of the same work, so a change in one is understood by the others.
Co-writer works inside that project. It has read every page, so it can talk about your film the way another writer would: specifically. It can discuss, challenge and propose. It does not take over, and nothing on the page changes until you accept it.
We make Scriptr for screenwriters, writer-directors and filmmakers who take the work seriously, from the first idea to the first shot. Writing is at the centre of it. Everything else is there to serve the page.
What we hold ourselves to.
Every space in Scriptr is measured against six ideas.
