Everyone and everywhere, in one place.
Characters & Places is the canon of your film: who people are, where things happen, what they look like and where they appear. Story, Script, Whiteboard and Co-writer all draw on it.
Not another form to fill in.
You don’t have to stop and build a character sheet. The people and places you write about in Story and Script are recognised and gathered here, ready for whatever you know about them.
Places are characters too.
Give every location a profile: the time of day, the weather, the references, the scenes it holds. By the time production begins, the place is already described.
Change it once.
Rename Dalia and every page, board and shot follows. Update her profile and Co-writer knows the next time you ask.
A second memory for the story.
Because Co-writer reads Characters & Places, it can tell you when a scene contradicts what you’ve established, or when someone says something they never would.
Meet Co-writerNot yet. In Scene 1 she won’t even look at him. If she says it outright here, we lose that. Let her straighten the post again and leave the line unsaid.
