Every story can go another way.

Try a different ending, a braver second act or a producer’s note in an alternate draft, while the main draft stays exactly as it was.

Try another direction. Keep the original.

Every Story and Script has a Main draft. Choose Create alternate draft in the writing header, name it, and write. Switching between drafts takes one click; writing in one never touches another.

Every draft keeps its own history.

Each draft has a clock beside it. Open it to see that draft’s version history, without leaving the draft you are in: the current manuscript, the versions you named, and the checkpoints Scriptr kept for you.

Name the moments that matter.

Save a version as Table read or Sent to the producer and it is always there to open. While you write, Scriptr also keeps an automatic checkpoint at most every fifteen minutes, and a safety copy before anything that changes a lot at once.

Compare, then bring across only what you want.

When an alternate draft has a better scene or a sharper line, compare it with the draft you are in and apply just that change. Drafts are never combined behind your back: you see both, and you choose.

Nothing is lost.

Restoring an earlier version makes it the current manuscript as a new revision. The manuscript you had a moment ago is kept too, so you can always go back.

Write the version you’re not sure about.
