Tools

The right tool, right where you’re writing.

Press ⌘K, type a few letters, and act on the line you’re on: format it, add a scene, link a character or hand it to Co-writer.

⌘K, from anywhere on the page.

Press ⌘ K on a Mac or Ctrl K on Windows, or choose Tools at the foot of the page. Tools opens knowing where you are: the scene or chapter, and anything you have selected.

Built for Story and for Script.

  • Script: Scene Heading, Action, Character, Dialogue, Parenthetical and Transition; New scene, New act and Go to scene.
  • Story: Paragraph, Heading, Quote and Scene break; New chapter and Go to chapter; mention a character or place as you write.
  • Both: search the whole manuscript, check continuity and link a Scene Card.

Never leave the keyboard.

Type to filter every category at once. Use the arrow keys to move, Enter to run and Esc to step back. Tools that open a list, like Go to scene, open it in place.

Tools act. Co-writer suggests.

A tool changes the page straight away, and Undo reverses it. Co-writer tools, like Sharpen dialogue, prepare a request instead: nothing is sent, and no credit is used, until you choose Send. Co-writer’s changes always arrive as proposals.

Keep your hands on the page.
