Restoring a version
Restoring makes an earlier version the current manuscript as a new revision. Nothing is lost.
Restoring is safe. It never deletes anything: not the current manuscript, and not any history.
Restore a version
- Open the draft’s Version history and choose the version.
- Check it in the Version preview.
- Choose Restore this version, then confirm Restore version.
The selected version becomes the current manuscript as a new revision. Your manuscript as it was just before is saved in automatic history as Before restore, so you can go back to it the same way.
If someone else is writing
If the manuscript changes while the restore is happening, Scriptr stops and says so. History is refreshed. Review it, then try again.
When you can’t restore
- This manuscript is read-only. You have view access. Ask the project owner for edit access.
- You no longer have permission to change this manuscript. Your access changed while history was open.
- You appear to be offline. Reconnect before changing history.
