Opening version history
Each draft has a clock that opens its history: the current manuscript, your named versions and automatic history.
Open it
Open the draft control in the writing header. Each draft has a clock on the right of its row. Choose the clock to open that draft’s Version history. Opening a draft’s history doesn’t switch you to that draft. Choose the back arrow to return to the list of drafts.
What it shows
- Current manuscript: the draft as it is now.
- Named versions: versions you saved with a name. See Naming a version.
- Automatic history: checkpoints and safety snapshots Scriptr saved for you. See Automatic checkpoints and safety snapshots.
Each entry shows when it was saved and who saved it.
Preview a version
Choose an entry to open a read-only Version preview. Nothing you do in a preview changes the manuscript. To make it the current manuscript, choose Restore version. See Restoring a version.
When history can’t open
- You are offline: history needs a connection. Reconnect and choose Refresh.
- Version history could not be loaded: try Refresh. Your manuscript is not affected.
