Naming a version

Save the manuscript as a named version at a milestone, such as the draft you sent to a producer.

A named version marks a moment worth coming back to: the draft you sent out, the version before a big rewrite, the table-read draft.

Name a version

  1. Open the draft’s Version history.
  2. Choose Name this version.
  3. Type a name, up to 120 characters, such as Sent to producer, 14 March.
  4. Choose Save version.

The version appears under Named versions. Automatic history carries on as normal.

Good names

Say why the version matters, not just when: Before cutting the flashbacks is easier to find later than Tuesday.

Who can name versions

Anyone with edit access to the manuscript. If the manuscript is read-only to you, the history is still open to read.
