Agent-ready Markdown
Hand your Script or Story to an AI assistant as structured Markdown, with stable scene and chapter IDs.
Agent-ready Markdown is a plain-text version of your Script or Story that AI assistants read reliably. It keeps the structure, so an assistant knows which scene is which.
Two ways to get it
- Hand off to an agent: in the export menu, this downloads the Markdown straight away, with text and structure only. See Handing your work to an agent.
- Export… → Structured Markdown: the same format, with options to include characters, places and stable IDs.
What it contains
- A short header describing the document: its title, whether it is a script or story, the revision it was taken from, and a rights notice.
- The text, in order, with each scene or chapter marked by a stable ID.
- In Script, each line marked as action, character, parenthetical, dialogue or transition.
- If you choose: your characters and places.
What it never contains
- Co-writer conversations;
- comments;
- notes;
- anything outside your access, or anyone else’s drafts.
No connection, no credits
Handing off never connects Scriptr to anything, never calls a model and never uses credits. It is a file, and what you do with it is up to you.
The format is documented for developers in The scriptr.markdown/1 format.
