Exporting a screenplay

Export your Script as an industry-layout PDF or as a Fountain file.

  1. Open the Script.
  2. Open Export.
  3. Choose PDF or Fountain.
  4. Download the file.

What you get

  • PDF: industry layout in Courier 12 pt, with a title page showing the project’s title and “written by” your name. Page numbers start on page 2.
  • Fountain: plain text that opens in any screenplay app that reads Fountain, and in any text editor.

Final Draft export is listed but not enabled yet.

Which version is exported

Export uses the last version Scriptr has saved. If a save is still in progress, or did not complete, the export dialog tells you, because your latest sentences may not be in the file yet.

Good to know

  • The name on the title page is your display name in Settings › Account.
  • Scene numbers, revision colours and custom title page fields are not available yet.
