Exporting Story

Export your Story as a manuscript PDF or as Markdown.

  1. Open the Story.
  2. Open Export.
  3. Choose PDF or Markdown.
  4. Download the file.

What you get

  • PDF: manuscript pages in Times 12 pt with a title page. Each chapter starts on a new page, and bold and italic are kept.
  • Markdown: an open text format. Chapter titles become # headings, headings become ##, quotes and scene breaks are kept, and bold and italic are kept.

Word and plain text export are listed but not enabled yet.

Which version is exported

Export uses the last version Scriptr has saved. If a save is in progress or failed, the export dialog says so.
