Export presets and checks
Presets set the page layout for a kind of document. Checks catch problems before you send the file.
Presets
A preset sets the page size, margins, element styles, title page, scene numbers and identification. It never edits your text. Search presets by name, such as stage. Document layouts and submission profiles are kept apart.
| Preset | For |
|---|---|
| Standard feature screenplay | Film and television scripts. |
| BBC Writers | A submission profile that follows the BBC Writers script room’s rules. Check the opportunity’s current rules too. |
| Clean prose | A clean Story manuscript. |
| Agent manuscript | A Story manuscript for literary agents. |
Checks
Before you export, Scriptr runs checks against your settings and your document. Each check shows its status, an explanation, where in the document it applies, whether it was automatic or needs you to look, and a fix.
The summary reads, for example, 5 passed · 2 to fix · 1 to check. Only a real blocker stops you exporting; it names the fix.
An empty document can’t be exported, and the check says why.
