Collaboration at a glance
Projects are private until you invite someone. Each person can edit or view, and feedback sits next to the work.
Scriptr is built for films made by more than one person. Collaboration happens inside a project, with people you invite.
How it works
- Private by default. A project is visible only to its owner until they invite someone.
- Invitations by email. The owner invites people by email address. See Inviting someone to a project.
- A role for each person. Each person can edit or view. See Viewer vs Editor access.
- Links never grant access. The project’s private link opens only for people already invited. See Private links and general access.
- Feedback where it belongs. Comments sit next to the line, or at the exact moment of a take. See Comments and feedback.
- Changes are reversible. Every manuscript keeps version history. See Drafts and versions, explained.
Roles
| Role | Who | Can |
|---|---|---|
| Owner | The person who created the project | Everything, including inviting and removing people |
| Can edit | Invited as an editor | Read and change the project’s work |
| Can view | Invited as a viewer | Read, look through Characters and Places, and export |
Shared projects and plans
Projects you are invited to don’t count towards your plan’s project limit. Only projects you own do.
Outside the project
To show one take or a version of the film to someone who isn’t in the project, create a review link instead. See Sharing a take or draft for review.
