Signing in

Sign in with email and a password, an email link, Google, or X.

You can sign in with email, with Google, or with X. You do not need a separate Scriptr password to use Google or X.

Email and password

  1. Go to app.scriptr.co and choose Log in.
  2. Enter your email address and select Continue.
  3. Enter your password and select Log in.

Scriptr takes you back to where you were working.

Other email options

Continue with Google

  1. On Log in or Sign up, select Continue with Google.
  2. Choose the Google account you want to use, and approve the sign-in on Google’s screen.
  3. Scriptr signs you in.

Google shares the details used to identify the account: your Google account identifier, email address, name and profile picture. Scriptr does not receive your Google password, and does not ask to read Gmail, Google Drive or Google Calendar. Our Privacy Policy explains this.

Continue with X

  1. On Log in or Sign up, select Continue with X.
  2. Approve the sign-in on X’s screen.
  3. Scriptr signs you in.

X may share your X account identifier, username, display name and profile picture. An email address is included only when X provides one and you authorise it. X does not always provide an email. Scriptr may then ask you to confirm an email address we can reach.

X’s sign-in can include a permission that is able to read posts. Scriptr uses the sign-in to identify your account. It does not use it to retrieve or analyse your posts, timelines or private messages, and it does not post, follow or act on X for you. Scriptr does not receive your X password.

Confirming your email

Scriptr asks you to confirm an email address when it needs one it can use to reach you. That includes creating an account with email and a password, and signing in with X when X has not provided an email. If the confirmation email does not arrive, see Confirmation email did not arrive.

Signing in with Google or X does not join that sign-in to a different Scriptr account merely because the email addresses match.

Signing out

Open the account menu (your name at the top of the sidebar) and choose Sign out. To sign out everywhere, use Settings › Account › Sessions. See Managing your account.

Signing out of Scriptr does not delete your account. Removing Scriptr in your Google or X settings stops that provider from signing you in. It does not delete your Scriptr account.

If you lose access

  • Google or X. Recover that account with Google or X. Until you can, Continue with Google or Continue with X cannot sign you in.
  • A Scriptr password or email link. Use passwordless sign-in or reset your password if that method is on the account.
  • Still locked out. Write to hello@scriptr.co from an address we can use to identify the account. Never send a password.

Continue with Apple is not offered on Log in or Sign up. An existing Scriptr account is not deleted, and it is not turned into an X sign-in, because Apple is not offered.

Good to know

If the email and password do not match, Scriptr says so without saying which one is wrong. If you have not confirmed your email yet, Scriptr tells you to confirm it first.
