Studio and production collaboration

Writers and the production team work from the same project: the screenplay, the shots and the review cut.

One project, from page to picture

The screenplay, its characters and places, the Whiteboards, and the Production scenes and shots all live in one project. When the screenplay changes, Production shows Script changed on the scenes affected, so the production team always knows what moved. See Moving from screenplay to Production.

Who does what

  • Writers keep writing in Story and Script.
  • Directors and producers plan scenes, shots and takes in Production, which is part of the Director plan.
  • Everyone else can be invited to view.

Reviewing with people outside the project

Executives, financiers and department heads don’t need to be in the project. Send a review link to a take or a frozen version of the draft, with a password and expiry if you like. They comment at exact moments, without an account, and every comment reaches your Inbox. See Sharing a take or draft for review.
