Playing character dialogue in Script

Once a character has a voice, you can hear their lines from the Script, in that voice.

When a character has a voice, Script can play their dialogue in it, so you can hear a scene the way you wrote it.

Hear a line

  1. In Script, hover over a character’s name above a line of dialogue. Only the name is highlighted.
  2. The preview that opens shows the scene, the character’s line in Courier, and a sample in their voice.
  3. Play the line.

From the same preview you can Open character or Ask Co-writer about the line.

Characters without a voice

If a character doesn’t have a voice yet, the preview says so and offers Open Voice Studio. See Creating a voice for a character.

Changing a line

Playback always uses the line as it is in the screenplay. Edit the dialogue in Script as usual; the next time you play it, you hear the new line.

Who hears what

Anyone who can open the project can play dialogue in a character’s chosen voice. Only people with edit access can choose or change the voice.
