Co-writer usage
Every plan includes Co-writer usage each month: Co-writer Lite on Free, expanded usage on Writer and extended usage on Director. It resets at the start of each month.
Every Scriptr plan includes Co-writer usage. Free includes Co-writer Lite, while Writer and Director provide access to more capable supported models and larger monthly allowances. Director includes our highest Co-writer usage allowance.

Writer and Director choose from the same models. The difference between them is how much Co-writer you can use each month.
What counts
- Sending a message to Co-writer, or running a Co-writer tool, counts towards your monthly usage.
- Preparing a request doesn’t. Nothing is used until you choose Send.
- Develop in Production counts like any other Co-writer request.
- Tools, export and agent-ready Markdown never use Co-writer.
When it resets
Usage resets at the start of each calendar month (UTC). Unused usage doesn’t carry over.
Seeing what’s left
Settings → Plan & usage shows how much of this month’s Co-writer usage remains and when it resets, and tells you when you are getting close. See Checking your usage.
When you reach the limit
Further Co-writer requests are unavailable until your usage resets, or until your account moves to a plan with a higher allowance. Your writing stays fully available, and everything else in Scriptr works as normal.
Not the same as generation
Co-writer usage is separate from image, video and voice generation, which will be metered on its own when it is available. See Generation and what it costs.
