Selecting and reviewing takes
Play, skim and compare a shot’s takes, choose the one the film uses, and watch it in Cinema.
Open a shot to see its takes. The shot opens media first: the viewer, the timeline and the takes, then the direction.
Choose the selected take
Each shot has one selected take: the one the working draft plays. To change it, open the take and choose Select take. Viewing a different take doesn’t change the selection; the viewer says which take is selected.
From a take you can also:
- Try another: generate a new take from the same direction;
- Use this frame: start a new image or video from the current frame;
- Refine with Co-writer: ask Co-writer to revise the direction. A revised direction arrives as a proposal and generates nothing.
The timeline
The timeline is a filmstrip with a ruler.
- Hover to skim; the viewer follows.
- Drag to scrub, or click to place the playhead.
- Zoom from 1× to 8×, or Fit to see the whole take.
- Comment markers sit at their exact time.
