Setting a visual style for the project
Choose a look for the whole film. New generations inherit it, and any shot can override it.
A visual style keeps a film looking like one film. It applies to every new generation in the project unless a shot sets its own.
Choose a style
- In Production, open the style control in the composer.
- Choose one of the preset looks. Each shows a live preview.
- Or choose Custom look and describe it: a written description, with optional facets for lighting, colour, atmosphere and camera, and references.
How it applies
- New generations inherit the project’s style.
- Any shot can override it with its own.
- Earlier takes keep the style they were made with. Changing the style never alters work that already exists.
Plans
A persistent project visual style is part of Writer and Director.
