Asking Co-writer for help
Open Co-writer beside your writing, ask about the project or a scene, or ask it to draft. It proposes; you decide.
Where to find Co-writer
- Beside your writing: open the Co-writer panel in Story or Script.
- From the page: type / and choose Ask Co-writer. In Story you can also choose Continue Writing.
- From a character or place: select Ask Co-writer on its peek or profile.
- Develop: on Project Home, choose Develop with Co-writer to think the whole film through in conversation.
What you can ask
- Questions: about the project, a character or place, a scene, or a selection. For example, What does Dalia want in this scene?
- Drafting: ask Co-writer to write something, such as the next beat of a scene. It drafts into your Story or Script as a proposal for you to keep or discard.
- Development: ask it to explore another direction, sharpen a scene or check continuity.
Tips
- Select text first to ask about exactly that passage.
- Say what you want to keep, such as tone, length or point of view.
- If an answer misses, say what was wrong and ask again. You can start a new conversation at any time.
Good to know
- Co-writer can be wrong. It works from your project, and it says when it is unsure, but check what it tells you.
- Co-writer needs an internet connection.
