What Co-writer knows

Co-writer reads your project: the scene you are in, summaries of the rest, your Characters & Places, and the decisions you have kept. It never reads other projects.

Every time you ask Co-writer something, Scriptr gathers what it needs from your project on our servers and sends it with your question. Your browser never sends Co-writer anything except your question and where you are.

What it reads

  • Where you are: the full text of the scene or chapter you are working in, and the ones around it.
  • The rest of the film: short summaries of other scenes, not their full text.
  • Characters & Places: names, descriptions and where they appear.
  • Facts: things you have confirmed are stated as facts. Things Scriptr has inferred are passed on as uncertain, and Co-writer is asked to treat them that way.
  • Project decisions: choices you have asked Co-writer to keep.

The context chips above the composer show what Co-writer will be given. You can remove any of them before you send.

What it does not read

  • Other projects. Every request uses one project only.
  • Anything outside Scriptr.

Where your writing is processed

To answer, Scriptr sends this context and your question to the AI model provider that runs Co-writer. Scriptr also uses that provider in the background while you work on a screenplay, to write the short scene summaries and to recognise characters, places and facts. Our Privacy Policy names the provider and explains how this is handled.

The model behind it

Co-writer currently runs on a single model chosen by Scriptr. The model menu in the composer lists models, but choosing one does not change which model answers yet.

Conversations

Conversations belong to the project. The same conversation can continue in Develop, Story, Script and Production, and you can return to past conversations from the conversation list.
