Using Whiteboard for visual development
A Whiteboard is a free canvas for images, notes, text and reference cards that point at your scenes, chapters, characters and places.
Create a board
- Open Whiteboard from a project, or Whiteboards in the sidebar.
- Select New whiteboard and choose a starting point: an empty canvas, a visual board with frames for tone and colour, or a board that starts from a character, place or scene.
A board can belong to a project or stand alone. Every starting point creates the same flexible board.
What you can add
- Text and Notes, in muted paper tones.
- Images: upload JPEG, PNG or WebP images up to 10 MB each.
- Reference cards that point at a scene, chapter, character, place or project. A reference card shows the real thing, so it never goes out of date.
- Frames to group an area of the board under a name.
Move around
Drag to arrange. Zoom with ⌘ +++ and ⌘ −, fit everything with ⌘ 0, and undo with ⌘ Z (use Ctrl++ on Windows).
Manage boards
From the boards list you can Rename, Duplicate or Delete a board.
Good to know
- Board images are stored privately with your account.
- If a board shows In this browser, it is saved only in this browser rather than to your account, so it will not appear on another computer.
