What is Scriptr?
Scriptr is a writing and filmmaking workspace in which one film lives as Story, Script, Characters & Places, Whiteboard, Co-writer and Production.
Scriptr is built for screenwriters and filmmakers. Each film you work on is a Project, and everything about that film stays inside it.
The spaces in a Project
- Story: free-form prose, such as a treatment, an outline, a novel or notes on the world.
- Script: screenplay pages with standard screenplay formatting.
- Characters & Places: a profile for each person and location in the film.
- Whiteboard: images, notes and reference cards arranged on a board.
- Co-writer: an AI collaborator that reads your Project and proposes changes you can accept or discard.
- Production: the scenes of your screenplay, broken down into shots.
These are views of the same film rather than separate documents. A character who appears in your screenplay has one profile, whichever space you reach it from.
You stay in control
Co-writer never changes your work by itself. What it suggests waits for you to accept it. See Accepting or rejecting proposed changes.
Where Scriptr runs
Scriptr runs in your web browser at app.scriptr.co. It is made for a computer. On a phone, Scriptr opens in a read-only review mode: see Using Scriptr on mobile.
