Using screenplay dialogue
Audition voices on the character’s real lines, and play their dialogue in Script once they have a voice.
In Voice Studio
Under Try a line, From the Script lists the character’s real dialogue, each line with its scene and place. Choose one to perform it.
You can’t edit those lines in Voice Studio. Open in Script takes you to the line, so you change it in one place.
In Script
Once a character has a voice:
- Hover over the character’s name above a line of dialogue. Only the name is highlighted.
- The preview shows the scene, the line in Courier, and their voice.
- Play the line.
The preview also offers Open character and Ask Co-writer. If the character has no voice yet, it offers Open Voice Studio.
The line is always current
Playback uses the line as it is in the screenplay now. Rewrite it in Script, and the next performance is of the new line.
