What is Voice Studio?

Voice Studio gives each character one voice of their own, so you can hear their dialogue in Script and Production.

Voice Studio is where a character finds their voice. You choose one from the library or create one from a description, try it on the character’s real dialogue, and save it to the character. From then on, Script and Production use that voice whenever you play the character’s lines.

A character’s voice, chosen in Voice Studio and heard on their lines.

A voice and a take are different things

VoiceTake
What it isThe character’s identity: how they soundOne performance of one line
How manyOne per characterAs many as you keep
Where it is usedEverywhere the character speaksWhere you keep or share it

Choosing a voice never selects a take, and keeping, renaming or removing a take never changes the voice.

What you can do

  • Choose a voice from the library, or create one from a written description.
  • Audition voices on a line from your Script or one you type.
  • Compare performances of the same line, side by side.
  • Save the voice to the character, and change it whenever you like.
  • Play the character’s dialogue in Script, and hear them in Production.

Plans

Voice Studio is part of Writer and Director. Generating new speech uses your plan’s generation allowance. See Voice credits and usage.
